Few musicians can have had a much more glittering start in showbusiness, for in 1963 - when playing only his third gig - Tony and his group The four XXXXs found themselves supporting no lesser act than...The Beatles!. At the time Tony was playing lead guitar in the group that performed cover versions of Shadows hits. By the late 1960s he had moved over to playing bass guitar with rock band Power and Glory, supporting the like of Fleetwood Mac, Geno Washington, John Mayall's Bluesbreakers, Joe Cocker, The Spencer Davis Group, Cliff Bennett and the Rebel Rousers, The Groundhogs, The Moody Blues, The Flowerpot Men and The Foundations, to name but a few. Throughout the 1970s and up to the present day, Tony has continued performing with a series of well-respected bands including the curiously named Gaf The Horse In Tears, as well as Sneakin' Suspicion, Pigs in Shades, The Backdoor Blues Corporation (BBC) and Joe Cocker tribute outfit Cockermouth. Tony shines in any line-up he has performed in.
